DJ Hey Mesa

Here are a couple of promo shots I did for my buddy James. His residency is every other week at the Verdugo Bar in Glassell Park & every Saturday at the Surly Goat in West Hollywood. Those are two of the bars I frequent every so often. Great selection of rare beers on tap, chill vibe & good company. Check him out at either places if you get the chance.

Manuel & Jazmin: J-Town Engagement Session

Once again my good friend Linda of Glassbox Affairs recommended me to another beautiful couple, Manuel & Jazmin to shoot their engagement photos. I can’t thank her enough for her support. This time the couple was family friend’s of her so I especially needed to give special attention to them.

Time of was the essence since their wedding was a month away and they needed a portrait for their wedding day. We decided on a city night life theme which represents them the most. Sometimes hectic and fast paced but always beautiful with bright lights. So we met up in Little Tokyo in the evening. With only a couple of hours allotted, we managed to come out with some great shots. Technically, it was more challenging to find available light when sun was setting and it was a hazy day but luckily i had an off camera flash with me and there was the lights of local J-town businesses.

Congrats to Manuel & Jazmin as they were married the 6th of November in beautiful Costa Mesa.

Lil Kurt : 1st Birthday Shoot

When Yan and Joann asked me to shoot portraits and cover Kurt’s first birthday party, I was more than ecstatic and honored to do so. I mean anyone’s first birthday is a big deal ain’t it? For a photographer, even more so because the photos will last a lifetime and little Kurt has a big one ahead of him. Here are some of the shots taken at the Wijayas home and a local park in Arcadia. Thanks Yan & Joann for the honor!

Pablo & Kim: Malibu Engagement Session

fgallery (1 of 1)

When my friend Kim asked me to take her & fiance Pablo’s engagement photos, i was more than happy & honored to do it. I had previously shot Kim and her 3 other sisters for a siblings portrait as a gift to their mom’s on her birthday.

After numerous shoot location brainstorming, Kim was referred by a friend about this awesome spot in Malibu called El Matador Beach. It has a nice 2 bench park with a yellow poppy field on a cliff overlooking the pacific ocean. Great view. We had arrived there 10am and the first shot s were with the sun right overhead. Not ideal lighting conditions but we managed. That was until the fog came rolling through in an instant and suddenly the view of the ocean had dissapeared, Nevertheless, we overcame the fog and it really actually help us as the clouds became a nice softbox which is great for portraits bur not ideal for landscape style photos. So it was a give and take.

Overall, the shots turned out great and it was a fun day in Malibu. Congrats to Kim & Pablo’s wedding in May.
